Woking Catenians

Woking Circle is the 135th Circle of the Catenian Association and is in Province 19. It was founded over 50 years ago as a daughter Circle of Weybridge and now has in excess of 70 members.

The geographical area covered by the Circle primarily encompasses the Surrey areas of Byfleet, West Byfleet and Woking (including outlying areas of Knaphill, Brookwood and Bisley). We also have members from the Fetcham, Guildford, Frimley and Farnborough areas. We may be based in Woking but membership can be from as far and wide as an individual desires. There is no 'catchment' limit and residential status is not a preclusion to joining another Circle in another area.

As with all Catenian Circles we unreservedly share the aspirations of Catenianism.

We meet on the second Thursday of the month, normally in St Dunstan's Church Hall, Woking. Following each meeting we dine and include our ladies on some of these occasions. For details of exactly where we meet in Woking click here for Directions.

At set times throughout the year we have special occasions where we meet and / or dine at different venues more suited to the formal occasion. This includes:

  • The Inaugural Dinner in April/May, where we celebrate the start of the Catenian Year.
  • Charter Night, being the anniversary of the foundation of the Circle.
  • Clergy Night, where invited local clergy to enjoy a fine meal in the company of the Circle.

Other occasions include a Countryside Ramble, BBQ, President's Sunday, Childrens' Christmas Party and many more events, all of which are enjoyed by the members and their wives and children.
